who you are today

Hi there,

The last few months it's been a challenge to get back into my weekly writing rhythm. While I was walking with Ernest yesterday something clicked – maybe it's not about getting back to it but rather stepping into whatever new rhythm is needed in this new moment.

More than enough energy was going towards attempting to swim upstream back to half-written drafts that I hadn't published yet. I can feel myself now, upon bringing up those drafts, fighting the urge to go back to them. "They are good! They are valuable! You must go back and resurrect them!"

But going back into them, as I have been the past two weeks has resulted in not actually publishing anything. So... sure they might be valuable words but perhaps they aren't what's needed in this moment.

So, it seems I'm sharing two interrelated points – (1) stepping into what's needed in this moment and (2) witnessing the actual results (or lack thereof) instead of holding onto mere ideas, no matter how valuable they are.

Now, ideas are great, don't get me wrong. I find ideas intoxicating. And at a certain point, ideas (such as half-finished drafts) can become stifling, holding me back with all that's left unfinished so I can't move onward – and even before onward, so I can't move fully into this present moment.

A question resurfaces: what is accessible in this present moment?

(Funny enough it's the title of one of those half-finished drafts.)

This question came from a kind-hearted person, named Cait, who is stepping into offering her coaching services to business owners. She and I got together so she could experiment with a new way of sharing a system she has designed.

She offered me this question in response to my share about seeing the grand visions for my work and myself in the future but feeling unable to reach them.

What is accessible in this present moment?

I could – you could – we could focus on getting back to those half-finished ideas of yesterday or immerse ourselves in the grand, beautiful visions of tomorrow... or, perhaps, we could offer more attention to who we are right now – and what is accessible in this present rhythm.

Till next time,

Cassandra

P.S. Along this theme, I recently updated my now page. Take a read through to get more of a sense of what I've been up to lately.

P.P.S. If you want to chat about what's accessible (or what's not) for you right now, you are more than welcome to reach out. I love talking further about the topics I write about! It may take me a bit to get back to you (🙃 hey, Viola!) but I will in good time.
